In Canada, the cases of missing
or murdered women for being
indigenous are epidemic. Every
October 4th, the Native Women’s
Association of Canada, NWAC,
organizes the Sisters in Spirit Vigil in
different cities of Canada to honor the
lives of missing indigenous women
and to help the families heal their
wounds. In 4 years only the number
of vigils increased from 11 to 84 and
extended to 4 more countries.

OUR PROBLEMS
≠
I have motor disability since I was
9 months old. I am here because I
want to change things and to share
my dreams with other indigenous
women with a disability, just like me.
Together with other professionals I
created the Fundación Paso a Paso
to find solutions to our situation. We
want an inclusive society that gives
the same opportunities to indigenous
people with disability.
