The present laws allow
production, emission,
storage, transportation,
export, import and
dumping of dangerous
chemical components and
radioactive materials, as
well as the expansion of
polluting activities. We
have documented cases of
environmental violence and
its effects on our life and
the lives of our people, and
we present them to United
Nations so they take global
measures.

WE PROTECT OUR TERRITORIES
HOWWE SOLVE
OUR PROBLEMS
I fight to prevent the destruction of
Lake Turkana. The construction of the
Gibe 3 dam on Omo River (Ethiopia
and Kenya) will destroy Lake Turkana
and the life of 8 ethnic groups. We
have stopped the construction of the
dam in Kenya with the support of the
villages. We talked to the banks and
convinced them to withdraw their
financial support. We are looking for
other energetic alternatives that do
not endanger people’s lives and the
lake. Due to my activism I am not very
popular and I need to watch out for
my security.
